Why is the course registration closed?

The course registration may not yet be open. If you would like to register for a course that is "closed", please contact the course manager ("contact person") listed in the event for more information.

How can I register for courses in North America? 
Since AONA uses a different course management system, please visit www.aona.org or contact registrar@aona.org for course registration in North America.

What is the registration fee for the courses?

For every course, you will find details, including fee and additional charges, in the course description document and in the information regarding registration. Simply click on the course of your interest to get the information you need.

Where can I find information about registration fees, cancellation policies, location of the course and accommodation options?

For every course, you will find details, including fee and additional charges, in the course description document and in the information regarding registration. Simply click on the course of your interest and scroll to the according section to get the information you need. 

Do I have to pay immediately?

You can choose to pay immediately by credit card or to pay later by a bank transfer. If you pay by credit card, your seat is confirmed as soon as the payment process is finalized. If you choose the bank transfer option, your registration will be on "pending payment" until the course fee is received. Please note that your registration is not confirmed and your place not guaranteed until your payment for the registration has been processed.

Can I make a pre-reservation for a course?

Pre-reservations are unfortunately not possible. Please use the online registration process once the registration opens. 

What is a voucher?

A voucher is a pre-paid course seat. 

How do I find the annual AOTrauma course schedule?

All AOTrauma courses are listed on the AOTrauma website under Education > Events and Courses. There, you can narrow your search by filtering the list using the terms on the left-hand side underneath the navigation.

How can I find AO activities in my country?

In the AOTrauma course list, you can set a country filter on the left-hand side underneath the navigation. You can also filter by other categories, eg, language, or level.

Where can I find the objectives of a course, or information about the target participants?

The course objectives and target audience are part of the description of the course program linked in the event. In case the course program has not yet been uploaded, please contact the course manager or course chairman, who will be listed in the course description.

How can I find a course sponsor?

AOTrauma does not sponsor courses. In order to find a course sponsor, please contact your employer, or industry partners.

What is my username and login?

On the login window next to the password field, there is a "forgot my password" link. Please use this link to reset your password, or contact membership@aotrauma.org for further support.

Faculty

 

How can I attend the AOTrauma Faculty Education Program (FEP)?

You have to be nominated from your regional education committee/officer and fulfill the following requirements:

  • Paying AOTrauma member
  • Have completed the Principles and Advances courses as a participant
  • Have a faculty assignment scheduled
  • Very good knowledge of the language in which they will teach

How can I attend the AOTrauma Chairperson Training Program (CTP)?

You have to be nominated from your regional education committee/officer and fulfill the following requirements:

  • Experienced faculty who have demonstrated success in teaching
  • Highly motivated
  • Actively involved in regional education activities
  • Have a chair assignment scheduled for a Principles or Advances national course (using the template) or another national course that uses a template program, eg, Orthogeriatrics, ORP
  • Need to have attended a FEP

How can I attend the AOTrauma Chairperson Training Program (CEP)?

You have to be nominated from your regional education committee/officer and fulfill the following requirements:

  • Experienced faculty who have demonstrated success in teaching
  • Highly motivated
  • Actively involved in regional education activities
  • Have a chair assignment scheduled on regional or international level
  • Chairing a course with a new format
  • International/regional education committee members and AOTrauma (educational) leaders
  • Need to have attended a FEP

How can I attend the AOTrauma Coaching Program?

You have to be nominated from your regional education committee/officer and fulfill the following requirements:

  • Experienced faculty who have demonstrated success in teaching
  • Highly motivated to take on this role
  • Actively involved in regional education activities
  • RETT /CEP graduates preferred
  • All other faculty who could serve as coaches and have done an FEP or equivalent training

How can I be part of the AOTrauma Regional Education Team (RETT)?

You have to be nominated from your regional education committee/officer in coordination with the AOTEC and fulfill the following requirements:

  • Educators and surgeon faculty who have a strong commitment to quality education, teaching expertise, and credibility
  • Educators nominated by AOTEC* in coordination with regional offices and selected by regional education committees
  • Surgeons are nominated by regional offices and selected by regional education committee in coordination with AOTEC*
  • Need to have attended a FEP and CEP

In what languages is AO Surgery Reference available?

All AO Surgery Reference contents is available in English. Some modules are available in Spanish and Mandarin. To find the Mandarin / Spanish modules, set your default browser language to Spanish, or Chinese respectively. Further translations are ongoing continuously.

When will new AO Surgery Reference modules be available?

The modules are developed in a continuous process. For more information, please refer to the AO Surgery Reference Facebook page.

Are webinars/webcasts accessible after their live transmission?

Yes, after live transmission, the archived and edited versions of all webinars and webcasts will be available on our video homepage http://www.aovideo.ch/catalog/.

Which technical equipment do I need to be able to watch a webinar?

You need the Adobe Flash Player installed on your computer. We recommend you perform a function test and check the system requirements to ensure your computer is ready to support the webinar.http://na3cps.adobeconnect.com/common/help/en/support/meeting_test.htm

What do I do if the system does not run even after the function test?

Approach the IT specialist at your place of work for support.

Can I watch a webinar on my smart phone/iPad?

Yes, simply download the apps onto your smart phone/iPad.

Do I get a certificate for participation in a webinar?

No, we do not give certificates for webinar attendance.

Do I get CME Credit Points for participating in a webinar?

No, the webinars are not CME accredited.
