AOTrauma Fellowships

The AOTrauma Fellowship provides orthopedic and general surgeons with additional experience regarding AO techniques. The purpose is to familiarize the fellows with indications, planning, techniques and pitfalls of osteosynthesis—as judged by AO experts.

AOTrauma Fellowships are not organized courses. The knowledge acquired depends a lot on the initiative of the individual. Hence, the main requirement is for the applicants to be extremely motivated to increase their knowledge regarding orthopedic trauma treatment, with a particularly strong emphasis on AO techniques and AO philosophy.

The AOTrauma community supports over 250 worldwide fellowships a year to provide additional experience in surgical techniques for fully trained general and orthopedic surgeons.

AOTrauma Fellowships are offered in more than 130 hospitals/clinics in five regions across the world. Each fellowship lasts between four and twelve weeks. The offer includes a contribution towards expenses. Due to high demand, it is not possible to accept every application for the program.
