Fellowship Host Centers


Introduction

AOTrauma has an international network of prestigious Fellowship Host Centers. If you would like your center to join this network, please apply via the online application form. In order to become an AOTrauma Fellowship Host Center, there are certain criteria (mentioned below) to be fulfilled. The final decision lies with your AOTrauma Regional Board and the AOTrauma Education Commission (AOTEC). 

Rationale of the Fellowship Program

  • To provide medical education
  • To work collaboratively with all of our partners
  • To build a network that post fellowship encourages and supports fellows within the AO community

Application process

Interested centers must complete the application form demonstrating that they meet the following criteria:

  1. Adequate orthopedic trauma caseload
  2. Level 1 Trauma Center or equivalent
  3. At least two staff members who are AOT faculty members 
  4. Affordable local accommodation close to the center
  5. Opportunities for the fellow to scrub-in, except where prohibited by local legislation
  6. Opportunity for the fellow to be called for emergencies and on weekends
  7. A letter of support from the Head of Trauma.  This letter should be written on headed paper, signed and dated. The letter must be ready to upload at the time of making the application. Please ensure that you have this letter ready before you begin the application.
