For the fifth year in a row, AO Trauma took its world-class educational content on the road, conducting successful seminars in Belarus and Georgia. The annual road show, which took place October 30, 2019 in Minsk, Belarus, and November 1, 2019 in Tbilisi, Georgia, aims to enhance fracture management knowledge in developing countries.

The AO Trauma Seminar—Distal Tibia, Ankle, and Hindfoot Injuries attracted 42 participants in Minsk, where high demand required organizers to increase the maximum number of participants. There were 36 participants at the seminar in Tbilisi, where Dr Anna Ekman from Sweden became the first female faculty member at an AO Trauma event in Georgia.

The AO Trauma Seminar—Distal Tibia, Ankle, and Hindfoot Injuries provided an up-to-date overview of current concepts in the management of common fractures around the ankle, including malleolar fractures, fractures of the tibial plafond, talus, and calcaneum. Targeted at physicians in surgical training as well as established trauma surgeons interested in updating and developing their skills and knowledge, the seminar featured interactive, case-based teaching and multimedia material.
