Faculty

Faculty development plays a key role in helping surgeons become excellent teachers. It also provides opportunities for faculty to challenge themselves while advancing their careers.

Faculty development

“Faculty is the brain and heart of any educational activity.”

Kodi Kojima, AOTrauma International Board Chairperson

Empowering orthopedic and trauma surgeons to translate theory into practice requires the highest quality instruction. AOTrauma's faculty members not only embrace lifelong learning for themselves, but facilitate it for the legions of surgeons who seek to enhance their knowledge and skills. The passion and dedication of AOTrauma faculty is the driving force behind the outstanding reputation of AOTrauma’s educational offerings.

Faculty development programs

Based on adult learning principles, our faculty development programs promote excellence in teaching, facilitation of surgeon learning, and curriculum development, and provide constructive feedback to participating faculty members. The skills and strategies developed in these programs positively impact course design and contribute to our mission to deliver high-quality education—ultimately translating into clinical practice for the benefit of patients.
The AOTrauma faculty development programs offer opportunities at different stages of your career.

What motivates our faculty

"By learning to teach and by teaching what you know it was a lovely opportunity to grow as an individual—both as a teacher as well as someone who can always use the clinical experience learned and gained by being part of the AO."
