Norbert Haas receives award at EFORT
AO Trauma, EFORT strengthen cooperation
07 June 2019
Respected German trauma surgeon and AO Past-President, Professor Norbert Haas has been honored for his lifetime contribution to the treatment of trauma at the 20th EFORT Congress, held June 5-7, in Lisbon, Portugal.
Over the course of his career, Professor Haas has made a significant impact on the development of orthopedics and traumatology. He is also a central figure at the AO. Since his first contact with the AO in the 1970s, Haas has played an important role in the AO's development. In his capacity as Board Member of the AO Assembly of Trustees, in his role as Chair of AO Technical Commission Trauma, as AO Foundation President, and in his active roles as a key opinion leader within AO Trauma and AO Recon.
It is particularly fitting that this recognition of Professor Haas' contribution to trauma took place at this year's EFORT. Haas has been integral in building the mutually beneficial cooperation between the AO and EFORT that we see today—exemplified by the AO's inclusion in the event's scientific program.
